Featuring dazzlingly high cliffs, fascinating rock formations, deep slot canyons and a surprisingly lush desert landscape, Zion National Park offers all kinds of outdoor adventure to its visitors. The Narrows and Angels Landing are two of the most popular hiking trails, but the extensive network contains everything from short paths to multi-day backpacking trails. Rock climbing and canyoneering are two more of the park's biggest activities, though most sites require extensive skill for safety's sake. A scenic drive offers a number of spectacular overlooks and cliff views, but it's well worth it to get out of the car and explore a bit to make the trip truly worthwhile. Located in southwest Utah, from Saint George, the park is about an hour's drive to the northeast.
